Guiness Book of Records

Andy Brown while playing for Widden got his name in the record books for the the quickest try ever scored from kick off, in either an ametuer or proffessional game of rugby !!! The game was fortunately being filmed, so Andy rightfully claimed his record. To this day the record still stands at 8 Seconds. Original match report HERE

Gloucester Record

Widden hosted touring side (AEC) on Sunday the 18th January 1958 and cruised to a 23-0 win. Normally this would go unnoticed, but Widden were the very first Gloucester side to play a game on a Sunday.

Widden were also the first junior club in Gloucester to have their own clubhouse.
